Information
Last year, the countries around the world tried to find the ways to survive the COVID-19 pandemic by closing their borders and putting their countries first. However, experiences from last year taught us otherwise; Blockading is not an ultimate solution and stronger solidarity and joint efforts are needed. Common peace will be achieved through multilateral cooperation among diverse stakeholders regardless of different ideologies. Promoting such cooperation will be the task that the Republic of Korea should carry out to achieve its goal of transformation and the mission for the whole world to overcome the crisis of the pandemic together. Against this backdrop, the special address will touch upon the possibility of expanding the role and the geopolitical values of the Korean Peninsula in establishing practical and sustainable peace. It will also offer prospect on the expected outcomes from economic cooperation with North Korea. Looking forward to the end of the pandemic, which will be the biggest task of the year 2021, the speaker will present ideas on global joint efforts needed especially in the biology sector for ushering into the post-COVID-19 era in a swift and stable manner.
