Peace building through energy cooperation in conflict areas in an era of climate crisis

This special session will present the case of peace diplomacy in the energy sector that promoted Abraham Accord in the Middle East, one of the most controversial regions, and seek a plan for climate change/energy cooperation between South and North Gangwon-do and South and North Korea. For effective climate change/energy cooperation between the two Koreas, we will introduce innovative eco-friendly low-carbon energy production technology development in Gangwon-do and draw implications for North Korea"s application. In the session, the importance of new and renewable energy to achieve global greenhouse gas reduction targets of 2030 and 2050 for the world"s well-being and peace, energy cooperation measures within the Gangwon Peace Special Self-Governing Province, and Gangwon-do Liquefied Hydrogen Industry Regulatory Freedom Demonstration Project, measures for energy peace cooperation in world conflict areas through nuclear fusion energy technology, and measures for inter-Korean and global energy cooperation through plasma power generation technology using low-grade coal and biomass as fuel will be discussed.
