Information
PyeongChang 2018 were a big success. They were said by IOC President Thomas BACH to have opened ‘New Horizons’ of the Olympic Winter Games. For three years since, the tangible and intangible legacies of PyeongChang 2018 have continued their success and expanded in various ways thanks to the PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation. The PyeongChang Peace Spirit, one of the most valuable legacies of PyeongChang 2018, gave birth to the PyeongChang Peace Forum, a peace platform for the Korean Peninsula and the world. Meanwhile, venues and infrastructure, other legacies from PyeongChang 2018, continue to be utilized for Gangwon 2024. In fact, the organizing committee for Gangwon 2024 was launched last year and preparation for the Games started in full swing. The participants of this session include the organizing committees of Gangwon 2024, Lausanne 2020, and Buenos Aires 2018, IOC members, and athletes intending to participate in Gangwon 2024. They will touch upon the initial preparations required for the successful hosting of Gangwon 2024 and their goals. In addition, the session intends to help establish international cooperative networks among host cities of YOGs and provide opportunities for the transfer of knowledge required for hosting such Games.
