Session
Information
This panel aims to gather wisdom from the citizens of Korea and Japan and promote coexisting Northeast Asia in the only divided province in the world, Gangwon Province. War-renouncing Article 9 of the Japanese constitution has been a symbol of peace in Northeast Asia for more than 70 years. In the same vein, perception towards the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is changing from a remnant from the tragic history of the Korean peninsula to a symbol of peace. This shift in the perception is expected to promote the registration of both Article 9 and DMZ on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.
