Information
Korea ranks 11th in the world economic power and 6th in military power, maintaining a high international status. So far, 54,720 troops (excluding Vietnam) have been dispatched to 29 countries, and 1,041 troops are currently dispatched to 14 countries. Contrary to its status, there are few institutions related to international peace activities related to the United Nations in Korea. The PKO (Peace Keeping Operations) center within the National Defense University is the only one. In this session, there will be discussion over the issue of host-ing the PKO Center and UN-related organizations to the DMZ International Peace Zone in Gangwon-do to promote peace education on the Korean Peninsula and around the world.
