Sixty-eight years have passed since the Korean War stopped, but the reality on the Korean Peninsula is that the war has yet to end completely. The declaration of the end of the war does not simply mean an end to the armistice on the Korean Peninsula. Rather than putting down everything now that the war is over, it means that neighboring countries, including the Korean Peninsula, should restore trust in each other and continue dialogue for peace in mutual trust. In this regard, the declaration of the end of the war is a priming water for sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula. In this session, we will look at the importance of the role of Gangwon-do with the reality of division to realize sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula and explore the tasks of Gangwon-do as a pacifist based on geographical and historical characteristics.
